The Girl-Child Week is observed every fourth week of March by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 759 series of 1996. This year’s theme “Tayo Para sa Kanya: The 2019 Girl-Child Week Celebration” advocated for the continuous promotion and protection of child rights by adults, service providers, the parents as the duty-bearers, and by the children themselves.

Children and adults from various organizations such as the Gems Heart Outreach Development, Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Laura Vicuna Foundation, Kaisahang Buhay Foundation, DSWD – 4Ps, Unang Hakbang Foundation, and ERDA Foundation participated in the said Forum.

The activity aimed to empower children with knowledge on the newly – enacted child protection laws such as The First 1,000 Days Law discussed by Rea Saludadez-Bagagunio of the National Nutrition Council, the Philippine HIV and AIDS Policy Act discussed by Mx Mar Balibago of UNICEF Philippines, and the Philippine Mental Health Law discussed by Mikkee Dela Pena of the Unilab Foundation.

The Museo Pambata boasts not only of being the first of its kind children’s museum in the country, but also with its various advocacies for children such as their Mobile Library, A.T.E. (Ako, Tayo, Para sa Edukasyon) Academy and Pasyal Museo.
